Love Gone Wrong

He watched her and looked out the window. "Were yuo born in LA?" he asked curiously.

"Mhm." She turned to her, and leaned aginst the counter. "My mother wanted me to be an actress, but her agent said I didnt have charm. Pity." She laughed lightly, "So when does Cassie come in? Because Im going to need a nap soon." She yawned, "I bearly got sleep last night." She walked over to the window where they had a long bench that could be used as a bed for couples who wanted to spend the night.

She sat down on the cusioned bench, and looked over at him. "You got a good room. Great view." She placed her hands in her lap, pressing down a bit. Her heartrate started to go up a bit. She breathed out, and remained calm. "What about you? Where are you from?"

He chukled. "Youll laugh." he said but desided to tell her anyway. "Im from TN." he stated. "Which could explain the arranged marriage- as well as the old 'cowboy' charm." he teased.

It also explained his nice physeke.

He closed his eyes. "You should sleep then." he said.


--morning--

Cassie lay a blanket over Dr. Valentine who was on the bench and took note of all of the owners vitals. he looked good enough at this point to be taken off of 24 hour monitoring... but he was dehydrated thanks to the burns.

She gently shook hism awake. "Hello." she greeted with a smile. "Im going to arrange for a songe bath this morning for you." she said, keeping her voice soft so as not to wake the sleeping doctor.

Veronica had stationed Guards out of the door before she'd fallen asleep, to make sure Mrs. Satnaf wouldnt pay a vist.

Veronica's eye's fluttered open, she breathed out as she sat herself up. She had a natural beauty, she even looking good in the mornings. "Oh Hi Cassie-" Veronica yawned, and covered her lips with her hand to be polite. She uncovered herself, and moved her legs over the side to put on her flats before standing up. "I dont even remember passing out." She commented.

"Now that Cassies here, Im going to take off Mr. Satnaf." She brushed out her hair a bit with her finguretips. "Freshen up, and tend to my other patints." She explained casually.

"Alright." he said watching her go.

Cassie watched her go to and looked back to he boss. "right.... Ill go get Dr.McDeam." she siad and elft also.

Veronica went to her office, she brushed out her hair- applied a bit of lipstick. She popped one of her anxiety pills, and looked over the papers on her desk. "Mr. Duven can be released, along with Mrs. Burnard..." Veronica spoke to herself lightly, "Need to check in on him..."

Veronica put her papers onto her clipboard, and stood up from her desk.

on her way dorn the hallway- the fire alarm went off.

Veronica flinched when the cold water started to pour out from the sprinklers. "Oh damn..." Veronica grumbled, her first concern was her patients. She quickly started to walk down the hallway when she ran into Dr. McDeam. "Whats going on?" She asked him sternly, concerned.

"Do we need to get the patients out or is this a horrible drill?"

"It isnt a drill- someone set fire to Mr. Satnaf's curtins." he said. "Everyones getting paitents out." he explained.

He brushed past her into a room where he unlocked the wheels of the bed, moving it out- knowing that that particular paitent couldnt walk.

smoke began to fill the hallway.

Nurses were helping somepaitentsout- family helping others.

"Oh for the love of God-" Veronica grumbled, she quickly ran off towards Mr. Satnafs room. She didnt care if it was on fire. She quickly ran into the room, the door was already open. Cassie had beat her there, she was trying to help Micheal- Veronica quickly went to help. "I got this side-" She was trying not to inhale the smoke. She had to stay consious to help other patients.

Once they got him outside, Veronica went back inside- though they'd got the fire put out. She still needed to help out her other patients.

A few nurses went in to help as well.

"Hey!" a woman called to her.

When she looked- it was the doctor from the Ed. she was covered in blood and carring a little boy in her arms.

she had been in emergency surgery when smoke came into the room. she had had to stitch the boy up- and seeing as how crowded the er ws couldnt take a bed out.

Veronica stopped, the sight of the boy made her heart sink. Veronica quickly went over to her, "How can I help?" She questioned, not knowing if the woman wanted her to take the boy or find him a bed.

Kristen came quickly over to them with a free bedding, "Here we go-"

There was still panic everywhere, people trying to get in and people trying to get out. They were trying to clear up the smoke so they could get thier really sick patients back inside out of the cold. Some were being taken over to other hospitals for the time being.

She put the boy on the bed shakinghorribly. apparently she wasnt used to things outside of the surgery stoping it. "All the techs ran out." she said. "Hes still got internal bleeding but I couldnt do it alone." she said. "My hands are shaking too bad to do anything right."

That was a responcible doctor... not letting pride get in the way of the well being of her paitent.

"I'll do it." Veronica looked her in the eye's, and nodded. "The back up systems should have kicked in- we should be able to take him back inside. I'll do it."

Kristen nodded, "I'll help, come'on- lets get him back inside before its too late."

Veronica helped Kristen wheel the child inside, while the woman fallowed after them. They got him into the ER, got him into a room- cleaned the utensils and started right away. Time was always a factor when it was internal bleeding.

--Three hour later...

Veronica had finished her surgery, and visting her patients to make sure they were all fine. Checked in new patients- and finally had a break. She sat in the break room, she was eating an apple and drinking some water while watching the news. She frowned to herself, she couldnt believe that crazy lady had caught the hospital on fire.

"hey." a fimilar voice said walking up behind her.

The ER doctor sat down across from her with a pear. "i wanted to apologize and thank you." she said. "I dont normaly lose my nerve but..." she trailed off. "That boys my nephew." she said. "So thank you."

"Oh, I didnt know- Im just glad I was able to stop the bleeding in time. He should be fine now though. What happened, if you dont mind me asking?" Veronica didnt like her first impression of this woman, but any doctor popping pills did look suspicious.

"Im Veronica Valentine, but you can call me Veronica." She smiled nicely, beautiful smile. "Sorry for being snappy earlier."

She shook her head. "its fine... Apparently he fell off during horse riding lessons." she said. "I shouldnt have ordered you around, so its fine.." she said running a hand through her hair. "Im just used to having to do that ya know?" only girl working here and all."

"Oh the guys are easy to control." Veronica laughed lightly, "I didnt catch you name?" She rasied a slender eyebrow casually, Veronica really did have perfect features- it was impossible to think it was all natural beauty.

Veronica lightly bit her her fingertip, she hadnt taken her pills in a few hours now. Her heart started to speed up a bit, but she remained calm and cool in apperance. She put her hand down, lightly pressing on her thigh, that iresistable feeling. "Mr. Satnaf told me it, but it slipped my mind." She laughed casually.

"Amy." she sid simply. "Just as a warning." she said biting into her pear. "Keep an eye on that Dr.McDeam." she said. "He slept around with Mr. Satnaf's wife a while back..." she swallowed. "I wouldnt be suprised if hes the one who set that fire."

Veronica blinked, "Oh really?" She questioned, "You mean like they're having an affair and going to run off together, or one night stand?" She questioned, growing a bit concerned.

"I mean I really cant see that, wouldnt have Mr. Satnaf found out his employee was fucking his wife?" She questioned, also curious as to how Amy knew this.

"He knows she had an affair- just not with who." amy informed her. "Im talking more than just a one night stand." she stated.

Amy had dark skin, maybe half black, but deffinetly not latino. "Those nurses dont shut up about gossip- thats all I heard for abotu 3 months strate."

"Well God, I wish I knew about that. I only hear gossip about myself." She sighed, "I totally fucked him like two nights ago, I was having one of those fits and-" She stopped, she always had a bad habit of saying too much. "Well anyways, I dont see why he'd F*** me if he's having an affair already when he's married. Seriously, he needs three woman? I thought I was bad for sleeping around, but at least I go from person to person." She babbled on, and then took a bite from her apple.

"Sorry, Im a slut- Im surprised you hadnt heard that yet." She laughed. She was use to being talk about, called names- it didnt effect her.

Amy simply laughed a full hearted laugh. "Be a slut all you want- at least you honest." she said with a smile. "Most people her lie about what brand of tooth paste they use."

"Its nice to have a woman to talk to, I've been talking with Mr. Satnaf- but he's so stubborn." She took a drink of her water, "God you know, I even ran into Dr. McDeam when the fire alarm went off, when I was going to make sure Mr. Satnaf was alright..." She recalled, and blinked. "God, his wife did that to him- and now McDeam, a doctor, is trying to kill him too?" Veronica blinked.

"Oh mi god, he was going to do his surgery as well..." Veronica stood up, "I need to find a cop." She set her water down by her apple and left the room quickly.

Amy got up. "Hold on!" she said hurring after her. "If you get yoruself involved in somethign like murder or arsen youll make yourself a target." she warned. It sounded like she was talking form experiance.
