Love Gone Wrong

"Im shallow." Veronica laughed, "I cant help it. And plus he's like the relationship type." She laughed, and took a drink from her straw that lead to her alcoholic beverage.

Luxory giggled, and crawled into Amys lap. "I want to play games with you in your bedroom."

Veronica laughed, "Way to seduce her Luxory." She winked, and nudged Cassie with her foot as Luxory dragged off drunk Amy to her bedroom. "Hey, what are you doing? She left her toys and she's going to lock her door, why are you so far away from me?" She laughed.

Cassie blinke dhearing amy laugh from her room. "Well..." she got up and walked over. "It could be in shy." she said and sat on her lap.

"Your only shy when it comes to romance, your never shy at work. Your actually bossy. Its hot, you should be bossy." She laughed, and ran her fingure down Cassies stomach.

"Maybe when you come back to work, we could always lock my office door." She teased, "If thats what'll turn you on."

Veronica kissed up Cassies chest, and nipped at her earlobes. Seductive, yes.

When morning came Michael got up and left cara in he care of a nurse, headded off to tend to his other paitence. He had child services on th e way to interview ZCara so he was confident she would be alright.

Cara laid in bed, she was looking off in a dazed way- just staring at not in general. She snapped out of it, and looked around the room quickly- the nurse had left a few minutes ago to go get her some breakfest. Something made Cara tense up.

She crawled off her hospital bed, and stayed down hidden behind it for a moment while her mind raced with thoughts.

That sound. Those boots.

Cara looked across the room, seeing the window was opened a crack because the room got pretty hot last night. She moved over to it quickly, and opened it up some more. Luckily for her, she was on the ground floor. She grabbed the blanket that Micheal had been using, wrapped herself in it, and then jumped out the window.

She saw the tree's, and ran for them- quickly disappearing into the tree's. Her bear feet getting scrapped and torn up.

--Meanwhile...

Veronica sat at her desk, and frowned to herself as she had a horriboe headache. She told herself, once again, she wasnt going to drink on nights she had work the next day.

Im so sick of sitting behind my desk... Veronica sighed, and got up. She picked up her clipboard, and left her office to go check up on patients. It was nice that they were fully staffed now, because she didnt have to juggle so many patients. She had more time to help people, and do thier paper work.

She saw one of the new nurses crying outside of a room, saying she'd lost her patient.

A few other nurses had stopped what they were doing to watch.

Michael wasnt shouting, instead speaking to her very tensly, through gritted teeth.

The nurse looekd up startled. "w-what?"

"you heard me." he said. "You-are- fired." he said. "Clear out your locker and get out of my sight." he turned to an officer and imediatly began giving orders to find the runaway girl. She was a danger to herself running around like she was.

A man observed from the distance. He disappeared into the crowd of people who'd gathered.

Veronica moved her way through the small crowd, and looked to Micheal with a frown. She didnt understand why he'd just fired this new nurse. "Micheal, whats going on?" She was one of the few people who called him by his first name sometimes. Usually she liked to be formal with her boss.

She crossed her arms, and slightly moved her head to the side. "Why are you firing her? We need our nurses. What girl is missing?"

Kristen frowned as she watched, she touched the nurses arm- and moved her head for her to fallow her. "I'll help you." She smiled at her, "I know other hospitals who are in need of nurses, it'll be fine." Kristen being head of the nurses always tried to help out her own.

--Meanwhile...

Cara was a smart girl, she listened to her survival instincts. She'd ran away from home quite a few times when she was younger, managed to disappear for quite some time before her father could find her sometimes. She hadnt been able to escape for years this time though.

And she knew, she never wanted to go back.

"A girl came here last night as a neglecct victom." he said. "I promiced she would be kept safe and put the nurse in charge of keeping watch over her.
" he didnt seem at all upset about firing the nurse. "If someone breaks my trust- theyre gone." he said and brushed past veronica- clearly pissed.

His long hiar swished behind him as he went, a police officer followinghim asking questions.

Veronica sighed, he was so unreasonable when he was pissed off. No matter how good natured he usually was. "Your so stubborn." She said never-the-less after he brushed past her.

She glanced in the room, noticing the window was open. She obviously crawled out the window and ran for it.

Veronica recalled Kristen telling her about the poor girl, scared and cut all up. She breathed out, she needed to attend to her own patients. She glanced at her clipboard in her hands, and went to the first patient on the list.

--Several hours later...

Veronica went into her office for her break. She sat down at her desk, and started to check her e-mail as she ate an apple. She blinked, "A college reunion already? I dont even know if its worth going to... Well, at least I can show off Im sucessful with great clothing." She commented to herseld. "Masqurade? That sounds interesting."

She read more about its fund raiser, and so on- and decided to reply to tell them she'd be attending.

Kristen came into her office with a knock, and entered without Veronica even saying anything. "Hey Veronica." She smiled at her, and sat down in her seat infront of her desk. "So they still havent found that little girl. Poor Samatha just went to get her food, and came back and the girl was gone. Micheal obviously caes for that girl, so he's being unreasonable."

"She shouldda used the phone." Amy said poking her head in. "VV- you bussy?" she asked. "Just got the call there was a bus wreck downtown- people bein rushed here and South Gate hospital. Feel like helping in the er for a bit?"

"I had to deal with her crying her eye's out as she cleaned out her locker." Kristen sighed, and leaned back in her seat.

Veronica looked over to Amy, "Never, but its my job." She set down her apple, and turned off her monitor. She always had a habbit of doing that, not wanting people to come in her office and look at her stuff.

She flattened the front of her shirt, and stood up- walking over to Amy who stood in her dormframe. "So its like a date." She teased, and walked off down the hallway towards the ER.

Kristen sighed, and stood up. "This is going to be a long day." She knew she'd be busy because of this as well. And she already had to call in another nurse to replace the one who was fired.

The owner pulled a tripple- insuring all his doctors and normal staff could go on break or home for the night.

As a still recovering paitent himself, it wasnt the smartest of choices- but it was deffinetly the nicest he could have made.

--At the end of that week...

Veronica was touching up on her make up before slipping on an elegant gown she'd bought for her college reunion. She slipped on her tights, and then shoes- before putting on her mask.

She was escorted to the dance in a limo. She arrived on time, not wanting to draw too much attention to herself. She walked into the ballroom that was rented for the night, it was beautiful. Silk was drapped aginst the walls, and patterns were painted on the stone. Everything was nicely placed, and looked elegant. Many people were dancing on the dancefloor.

Veronica smiled to herself, this actually looked enjoyable. She walked over to the punch bar, and poured herself a drink. She sipped at it as she looked over at the dancers.

One man dressed in a dark green suit with a simple black face mask on slipped out of a womans arms and off of the dancefloor with remarkable grace.

A short brown ponytail danced around his neck as he turned, headded to the punch bowl himself.

Half of his face was black with a sly smile- very aluring while the other was a light gray, but not quite white with a very stotic expression plastered on it. He had broad shoulders and a nice walk, not slugish or sloppy.

"'Scuse me." he said to Veronica as he poured himself a glass.

He wore black silk gloves that matched the fassion of his suit and his shoes were obviously italian leather.

This guy had money.

Money was attractive. Veronica was no gold digger, but she deffinatly had a thing for fashion- and men in it. "Your excused." She said with a grin on her face, her lips were full and tempting. Her mask only covered her nose and eye's- and some of her forehead, It was black with small jewels placed lining the lower part underneth her eye's. Black elegant feathers were sticking out at her right side of the mask.

She was dressed in a flowing gown that parted up the front, revealing her long slender legs. The dress bunched up in the back, and layers fell to the ground behind her.

"But I believe you should ask a lady to dance."

He wallowed the punch and tossed the cup away. "Well I beg your pardon." he said and bowed, his ponytail sliding over his hsoulder to rest there. "Would you care to dance then?" he asked, offering her his hand.

the gloves seemed to have a slimming efect on them- his fingers were long and narrow like a piano players. Or a sergen.

Veronica smiled, and took his hand in her's- as she let him lead her to the dancefloor. Charming. She thought with a smile on her lips. With his arms now around her, as they danced slowly and gracefully to the romantic beat. He felt strong, and as she leaned her head aginst him- she could hear his strong heartbeat.

"Your smooth." She commented him on his dancing, "So what can I call you? Prince Charming." She teased lightly, her arms wrapped around him- and her hands were aginst his back. She could feel his tight muscles, and it rather aroused her.

"Is that Veronica?"

"Who? Oh, maybe. I cant tell who anyone is with these masks. Its wonderful." Two woman chatted as they stood aginst the wall, watching the dancers in the distance. "Why do you think its her?"

"Over done." The woman commented, "She's a perfectionist, I was her dorm mate in college. I know her style." She crossed one arm over her stomach casually- as she sipped some alcoholic beverage.

"Jealous?" The other woman teased, chuckling lightly. "Veronica was a bitch. Beautiful, but snappy and slutty." She leaned aginst the wall. "Smart girl, what a waste. Well, I hear she's a sucessful doctor at least. So I guess its not a complete waste."

"Your the one who sounds jealous."

"Or could it be you want to be in the arms of the romeo shes dancing with?" a third girl chimed in. "I wonder who that it. hes the oly guy wearing a full face mask." she said.

He chukled. "Prince charming?" he repeated. "If thats what you want. I supose Ill call you Rupunsel then?" he teased lightly as they spun in slow circles.

"Oh no, my hair isnt nearly long enough." Veronica giggled lightly, being playful and teasing. "More like Cinderella, or more of a Bell. Jasmin maybe." She moved her hand slightly, slowly moved it a bit down his back so she could feel more of his defined muscles.

The music changed, it was more upbeat. She took a step back from him, and smiled. "Can you only slow dance? Or would you enjoy dancing dirty?"

"He is quite attractive, I would love to see whats under that mask of his." She giggled, biting her lip slightly as she looked over at the two. "Nice expensive clothes too, too bad Im not a gold digger." She chuckled.

"Not like you have a chance with Veronica hanging all over him. Well at least tonight. She never keeps anyone for long." This woman obviously didnt know Veronica was in a relationship for awhile til her boyfriend died.

"Im offended." he said. she could just picture a mans handsome face pouting behind the mask. "I can dance in the modern era too." he said.

He brought the back of her hand up to the lips of his mask as the music picked up. "But ill follow your lead just incase im a bit rusty."

Dirty dancing led to him coming home with her. Thought out the night she'd drank quite a bit by the time they made it back to her place, she was drunk. They stumbled into her apartment, she didnt even bother to turn on th lights as she removed her coat. Some light from the large window in her living room lit up the room a bit with the moonlight.

She shut the door, and turned to him- moving her hands up his side as she leaned in towards him. Her hand made it up to his face, as she removed the mask- closed her eye's and kissed him. In darkness, she really couldnt see much- and being drunk she just didnt care. He didnt seem to mind either.

He pulled back after a moment or so. "VV?" he asked, fighting the drunken fog that clouded his mind.

He lifted her mask, curious green eyes looking down at her.

Veronica blinked as he pulled back, and then called her by her nickname Micheal had for her. "What?" She looked up at him as he pulled off her mask. She couldnt believe her eye's when she actually realized who it was.

"Oh God Micheal, way to ruin it." She turned away from him, and walked over to her purse- she grabbed out her pack of cigarettes. "Want one?" She questioned as she lit her's up. She was pretty for someone who was just seducing her boss. Being drunk helped her.

"God, I have this horrible thing with attracting my co-workers, and now I almost F*** my boss." She laughed, and pulled the strap of her dress that had fallen off her shoulder. She looked him over, still feeling that urge.

He twitched. "ill have one- and think of it that way your boss almost fucked you too." he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "... of all the girls to go home with too- I had to pick my own doctor."

She walked over to him, and handed him a cigarette. She chuckled, "Well we are adults." She looked him in the eye's, "Who have carelessly dranken quite alot." She continued, as if she was trying to lead him on. "You can always just say I seduced you." Her voice now a bit quitier, she took another step towards him- and placed her hand gentally on his arm.

In the back of her mind she was screaming. She didnt even know if she could control herself. She felt like she'd just locked herself away, and her evil twin was coming out. She subcousiously rolled her eye's at herself, telling herself she was drunk- but she did know what she was doing.
