Maggie ploped down next to him on the soofa, sighing. She was tired from all the running ulacard had had her do. "So why dont you invite this new girl out on a date?" she asked him. "Theres that new minigolf place that just opened right?" she sugested.

"What? No. I dont even talk to her." He shrugged, "Plus Im no good at golfing." He looked from Maggi3e, over to the tv. "I dont know, Im a young teen- and its pointless to date at my age." He was a smart mature boy, thats for sure.

"There's no way Im going to find my soulmate at this age. I mean kissing is fun, but there's really no point in it. There's no way a relationship would seriously work out. I'll wait til Im in highschool to date." He stated, and picked up the remoat for the tv so he could scan the channels. "Plus woman are a handful." He chuckled, teasing. "Look at you and mom."

"I resemble that remark." she said flattly then messed up his hair. "Did you finish your homework?"

She paused and frowned. "Are you feeling alright jase?" she asked, suddenly getting a pulling feeling in her chest. it only happened before he had an athsma attack or something bad happened. it was somewhat of a sixth sence.

Jase laughed at her, "Your older. Your survival chance in a relationship is much greater then mine." He commented, "Yeah, I always finish my homework in the morning." He then set aside the remote once he found something to watch. He was staring at the tv when it seemed his chest started to tighten- and his throat close up.

"Are you feeling alright jase?" The sound of Maggies voice seemed distant, and echo'd in his head.

He stiffened up, he couldnt find the words to say as he went pale and couldnt breathe. "I-" He tried to talk, and coughed a little as he collasped forwards and rolled over onto his side on the floor.

Minro just happened to be walking into the room when she saw Jase topple over, and Maggie trying to help him. "Oh God- Jase!" Minro exclaimed, she quickly went over to his side- and pulled out her cellphone to call for help. "Hold him up Maggie, that'll help him breathe." She paused, "Yes? Hello. I need an ambulance right away."

She frowned, holding him in a sitting possission, rubbing his back. "Jase- hey." she repeated his name trying to make him look at her. "Deep breaths jase- deep." she demanded.

she looked to her mother and got up once minru took jase into her arms. "Ill go flag down the ambulence." she said and hurried outside, brushing past her father barefoot into the front yard.

The ambulance showed up quickly, and they rushed Jase off to the hospital. They were there for what seemed like ten hours, but the reality of the situation was that they hadnt been there for very long. Minro kept pacing infront of the snack machine, bitting at her fingure lightly as she stared at the ground.

The doctor came out, he was an older man with a grim face. "Parents of Jase Mokoi?" He asked as Tye and Minro met him halfway from the door of Jases room. "Im affriad I have some bad news for you..." He said, his grim face looking even more grim then it did before. His face kind of sank, as if gravity was trying to pull it down. "It was just an asthma attack, but with some scans- we've found cancer."

Minro's heart dropped, and she had to hold herself up to prevent collasping to the ground in tears. "E-excuse me?" She stuttered out, "Your saying my son-" She had to catch her breath as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Has cancer?" Her eyebrow's were angled down, making the hurt on her face more apparant.

Maggie looked stunned and lend her mother her arm to help support her. "You can get rid of it- right?" she asked. "Surgery or radiation?" she asked hopefully. "I mean- hes gonna be okay right?"

"Im affraid its not that simple." The grim doctor replied, "If we'd caught it earlier, he would be fine off. But since its devoloped so quickly and much... His survival chance has been greatly decreased." The doctor held onto his clipboard tightly, his knuckles were turning white. It seemed to pain him greatly to see a child with cancer.

Minro looked away from the doctor, and covered her mouth with her hand. Finding it difficult to take in the words the doctor was saying. It was deffinatly the most painful once he explained Jase didnt have a good chance at beating it.

"It is up to you on what approuch you'd like to take. We can fight it, using theropy. Or we can opperate, but the chances of him actually surviving the surgery is low. Also if he did survive, it would be impossible to get it all. It would simply return, and next time he wont have a chance..." The doctor breathed out.

"..." Maggie looked heartbroken. "..." she looked to her parents and saw they they were embracing eachother.

Making a quick desision- she took her leave, her shoes sounddless on the tile floors of the hospital lobby as she ran outside.

She hurried to a corrner and flagged down a cab gettingin and pulled out her wallet. she handded him her money. Once he said it would be enough to get her to the adress she blurted out she sat back and stared out of the window.

Ulacard wouldnt be happy with her....


Neither would jase.

The cab took her to the address, and she was greated at the door by a servent. "Wait here." He led her inside, and had her sit in a charming waiting room while he went and recieved his master.

It wasnt long before Vincent walked into the room, seeing the state she was in made him frown. "Child, what is your problem?" He questioned as he sat down infront of her. "Where is your uncle Ulacard?" He figured if she did have a problem, she should at least go to her uncle who is her caretaker. But there was nothing Ulacard could do for her.

Maggie shook her head. "No." she said. "Uncle ulacard is fine... Its my brother." she said. she shifted looking up. "Hes sick with cancer.... and the doctors just told us they dont think hes going to make it...."

She looked down. "I know im being selfish by comming to you, Mr Vincent... But I woudl rather have a brother at night thant no brother at all..." she said biting her lip. a tear splashed onto the back of her hand.

Her words actually brought a chill to a cold Vampire. He frowned, knowing this was very serious. Due to the large number of E-class Vampires that have been rampant, the council has set down more rules about turning a human. Vincent knew this well.

This wasnt the first time people had come to him, asking him to save a loved one of thiers. He breathed out, and crossed his long slender arms. "Normally, I would have to turn you down." He replied in a calm, smooth tone. "But I believe we can make a deal." He stood up, and stepped over to her- sitting down beside her as he took her hand in his.

"I will turn your brother." He replied, "But I cannot care for him." He knew she knew that a Vampire needed thier master, or they would fall into an E-class. "I will tend to him, but cannot raise him as one of my own students. The council has been putting down restrictions and laws to prevent Vampires from turning humans."

He explained, "Normally this is a long process, you have to go through the council and let them decided. If they agree, then you can turn the human. If not, then you cant. Luckily, I find myself rather above such control." He smiled lightly, "But to prevent myself from getting in trouble, you will watch over him. And you will have to bring him by monthly to prevent him from becoming an E-class. Just at first."

He stood up,, and reached his hand down to help her stand up. "I will also send him to school with you, so I can observe and keep an eye on him. Your uncle thought it unwise to send him to your school, saying he'd be a distraction- but I find this perfect." Something did seem a bit siniter, but thats only natural when your dealing with a Vampire- asking him to turn someone.

Maggie still had tears in her eyes. "Im sorry to put you on the spot." she said, though her voice was overcome with reliefe. "And you have my word I will never let yami or jase fall to an E-class." she said. "I couldnt let them..... if I did..." she trailed off. they both knew fully well what would happen.

If they fell to an E-class-- seeing as how they were in her generation-- she would be assigned to 'dispose' of them.

"Of course. I put my faith in you." Seemed like empty words, but they were comforting. He helped her stand up, "Well lets go then." He commented, "I have things to tend to tonight, luckily you caught me."

He looked over to the servent who stood at the door, waiting for a comand. "Get the car ready, and bring it around front. Im going to the hospital with this young lady." The servent nodded, and walked off to do as his master wished.

Vincent walked Maggie out of the waiting room, and to the front door. "Do you wish for anything before we leave? You look pale." He commented, "And thats saying something coming from a Vampire." He teased lightly, knowing that she was going through a really hard time. "Would you wish to speak with Yami?" He questioned, being serious now.

She shook her head and wiped her eyes. "No... Yami will just yell at me and say im damning him." she chukled lightly. "I'll call him later..."

her hands were shaking and her lips being red form crying didnt help her skin look any rosier than it was. she looked like porciline. Ready to crack if you touched her wrong.

"I owe you." she said bowing her thanks. "If you ever need anything- when im older and actuly able to do something- please dont hesitate to ask me."

"The only thing you could do for me in a sin." He chuckled, and opened the door for her. Which was true, Vincent was a man who had it all- and lived well off. The only thing a young girl could do for a Vampire was to let him suck her blood. Sweet blood, quite tempting. But even Vincent knew his place, and would never try to drink a Saints blood.

He led her to the car, opened the door for her- and with that they headed off to the hospital.

maggie sat silently in the car as they headded off, unconchiously bouncing her knee. This made it official that she woudl have to get a job at the school to pay for his tiuition. she was forcing him to go really.

As if Vincent could read her mind, he spoke up. "We'll see to it that your brother is also a student of mine. Since it would only be right." He continued, "I will personally over see that your brother is ammitted to the school, and take care of everything else."

They arrived at the hospital, by the time they got there the doctor was still going over things with Minro and Tye in his office. Jase was laying in his bed, staring at the roof. They'd just told him he had cancer, and had left him alone so he could have some time to think.

Jase looked over at his sister, and gave her a weak smile. He really did look sickly. "Hey sis." He paused, and looked over at Vincent. "Who is this?" He questioned, looking back to his sister. Not exactly understanding why she'd bring a stranger to meet him in the hospital.

Maggie closed the door after looking arond outside of the hallway.

"Jase, this is Mr. Vincent- he's a friend of yamis and hes agreed to help you." she said looking toVincent. "This is my little brother Jase." she introduced.

She walked over to the boy and kissed his forhead. "You trust me right?" she asked. "Only to do whats goinjg to help you?"

Jase blinked, and looked from Vincent to Maggie who walked over to him. "Whats going on sister? Did mom and dad tell you?" He questioned, "I have cancer." He figured she was talking about him dying, which in a way she was.

Vincent smiled, "Charmed, Im sure." He walked over to Jases side, and looked down at him. "Im going to help you."

"I heard the doctor." she said and bryshed his bangs out of his face. "Just trust me okay? You can trust Mr. Vincent." she said.

She moved away, not sure what to exspect. she had never seen anyone actuly bitten.

"What?" Jase blinked, and looked to his sister. "What is going on? Why is he here? Maggie-"

"Dont worry kid. You're going to be better." He looked to Maggie, "Hold his arms down." He moved, and grabbed Jases neck. He moved down, and bit into his neck. Jase struggled, but he was weak- and overpowered. Vincent let go, and stood up stright. Jase was deathly pale. He cut open his wrist with his nail, and cupped Jase's jaw. He poured his blood into Jases mouth.

Jase started to shake violently, and skirm. Making strange noises. "Hold him down." Vincent looked Maggie in the eye's, and he went down to Jase's feet- and held his legs down. "His heart is stopping, and his body is changing."

Born Vampires have a heart beat. Turned Vampires dont.

Maggie was startled when he told her to hold him down but did as she was told, holding his arms.

"Hes going to be okay- right?" she asked struggeling to hold him down. even being weak he nearly shook her off.

She was taken off guard when he threw his head forward violently and headbutted her. For a second or two the room went black- then she realised she was on the floor and quickly got up.

"Hold him down." Vincents tone was still calm. But he needed her assistance to hold the boy down. Jase continued to shake violently as he was changing, until finally he settled down- but his eyelid's were flickering.

"He'll be fine." Vincent tolkd Maggie, seeing the concern on her face. "He's just changing." He let go of Jase's legs, and walked over to his side. "Hello Jase." Vincent spoke smoothly, "I am your master now." He stroaked Jase's forehead, moving his bangs away from his eye's. "My child, you are now a Vampire."

Jase quickly looked around the room, he looked confused. He looked over to Vincent, and then glanced at Maggie. He felt so horrible, now he felt better. Vampire. What? He looked to Vincent, "What? You just turned me into- into a vampire...? Thats impossible."

"Now I have a busy night ahead of me, so I'll call Yami. He can help explain."

Jase looked from Vincent to Maggie, "Call Yami for what?" He didnt get it. He was just like Yami now. "Maggie- whats going on?" He touched his neck, there was nothing there. It'd already healed. "Maggie-" He felt up his face, and put his finger into his mouth. He quickly pulled his finger away, "I have fangs Maggie..."

Vincent had pulled out his cellphone, and left the room. "Hello my dear Student, I need you to do me a huge favor. Maggies at the hospital. Oh she's fine. Would you be a dear and come see her? Yes, room number 703." He hung up with that, and then went to his car that was waiting out front for him. He got into the car, and drove off.

Maggie pushed through the throbbing headache and sat on the edge of his bed. she hugged him, resting her forhead on his neck to hide her tears.

the strong smell of salt hit him like he was at the ocean- and her skin was almost hot on his. "Im sorry." she said. "but youll be fine." she promiced. "Yamis a vampire too... Mr. Vincent is his student so I went to him and asked him to help you- so you wouldnt die on me too." she said. "Im sorry- blame me." she pulled back and wiped her eyes. "But I couldnt just sit back and watch my brother die.... it would have killed mom and dad to watch you suffer too."

she pulled his hand away from his mouth with a gental smile, always warm and reassuring. Some how she had an air to her that just calmed people. vampire or not. "Your fangs arent very noticable." she said. "You feel them because your sences are stronger than humans." she looked to the door- then back to Jase. Again with that stupid feeling of being watched.
